You need a bit of help with maths or French, but you’re not sure how much to ask your parents for. One centre advertises an annual fee, one tutor charges by the hour, and one platform offers a subscription. It’s hard to compare when nobody’s talking about the same thing.
The cost of private tuition in Morocco depends mainly on the level, the subject, the format and the actual time spent with the tutor. To help you choose, start by understanding what you’re paying for. Here are the available price ranges, with their limitations clearly stated.
Prices: what is checked and what isn’t
On the Elite Academy website, the price is listed as 100 DH per month for secondary school pupils and 150 DH per month for sixth-form students, per subject. These packages include two weekly sessions of 1 hour 30 minutes. The [1] Private lessons are offered as a separate service.
For private tuition to prepare for the Baccalaureate, Mumtaz’s 2026 price guide gives a range of 150 to 500 DH per hour. It specifies that this is an indicative range, not a national average derived from a representative survey. It therefore does not cover all [2] teachers or all year groups.
The figures relating to the centres call for even greater caution. According to *La Vie éco*, some packages could cost up to 12,000 DH a year for several subjects. However, this article was published in 2015: this amount should not be presented as a current rate for 2026. The general range of «5,000 to 12,000 DH per year» is not established by this [3] source.
Four solutions, four things to compare
A face-to-face centre can help you if you need to get out of the house to work. You’ll have a classroom, a group and a regular session. Ask for an up-to-date quote: course content, session duration, group size, enrolment fees and payment terms. Add transport costs to your budget.
A private tutor can focus on a very specific area where you’re struggling and work at your own pace. This option is worth considering if your difficulties are very different from those of your class. Before booking, ask how long a session actually lasts and whether travel is included.
For an international platform, there isn’t a single, fixed price that can be quoted. Check the currency, any fees, the curriculum covered and the type of access. A subscription to videos and a session with a teacher are not the same service. In particular, make sure the content matches the curriculum you’re following in Morocco.
In a live group lesson, you share the teacher’s time with other students. You can benefit from a regular session and ask questions, but you should check how the discussions are organised and the group’s level. A useful calculation to do before paying
Write down the total amount to be paid for the period, followed by the number of hours actually worked. Ask how holidays, public holidays and absences are handled. You will then be able to work out an hourly rate without assuming that a month contains exactly four weeks of lessons.
However, price alone isn’t enough. A lesson where you’re left feeling lost is a waste of money, even if it seems affordable. After a lesson, try doing an exercise you’ve worked on with the teacher on your own. If you can explain the steps, that’s a more useful indicator than the number of pages you’ve copied.
If you’re on a tight budget, start by identifying a specific need
First, choose the subject that’s holding you back the most. Prepare an example where you’ve got it wrong, your attempt at solving it, and a specific question. «I don’t understand why we change the direction of the inequality» gives the teacher a much clearer starting point than «I’m rubbish».
You can also use TelmidTice’s free resources to revise a topic, and then save face-to-face support for any questions you still have. The Ministry presents this [4] the platform as a teaching resource that is in line with the school curriculum.
Request the timetables and the total fare
Send a message to Elite Academy on WhatsApp saying: «Hello, I’m in [year group/course] and I need help with [subject]. What time slots do you offer and what is the total cost?»
At secondary school, 100 DH for a month is cheaper than an hour’s private tuition, which costs between 150 and 500 DH. The comparison is based on cost: a group package and an individual session are still two different forms of support.
